Lucknow: The Yogi government has suspended Padma Jung, the Director of Cooperative Societies, for promoting 150 employees without following the proper guidelines. The government has annulled the promotion and appointment orders issued by him. It is noteworthy that on December 31, the government restructured the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate (Cooperative Societies and Panchayat) Accounting Examination Service cadre, resulting in 150 vacancies for Assistant Audit Officers.
Why Was the Suspension Imposed?
On December 31, the government increased the number of Assistant Audit Officer positions from 255 to 405, creating 150 vacancies. However, a new set of guidelines was supposed to be established following this restructuring, which could only be implemented after cabinet approval. Despite this, Director Padma Jung promoted 150 Assistant Audit Officers on the same day, December 31. Subsequently, on January 16, these promoted employees were given new postings.
